We often get asked what the advantage, if any, a saltwater pool has over a chlorine pool. First, let’s clarify what a saltwater pool system is. It still has chlorine, it just creates chlorine through a natural process compared to chlorine pools.

Many people prefer the salt cell systems for pool water simply because it requires less maintenance and you spend less on expensive pool chemicals every year.  Saltwater pools won’t irritate your eyes, or skin and there is no strong chlorine odor. It is easier to maintain a saltwater pool cleaning system than a chlorine pool.

The initail investment in a saltwater pool system is more expensive.
